  10.  This is a Technical Support echo for Buffalo Creek's Spitfire BBS Software 
  11. and related utilities.  Spitfire Utility Program announcements are welcome 
  12. and encouraged. Spitfire Utility authors wanting to use this echo for 
  13. support or beta testing such program(s) are encouraged to do so. Please note
  14. that software written specifically for Spitfire is preferred. Other 
  15. utilities that are not specific for Spitfire BBS's shall require  prior 
  16. approval by the Moderators. If message traffic becomes a problem to the 
  17. participants of this echo the Moderators may restrict access. Discussions 
  18. which relate to the Business Practices of Buffalo Creek Software other than 
  19. general statements which can be supported by written documentation 
  20. originating from Buffalo Creek Software are Off-Topic. General chit chat
  21. should be moved to the Spitfire Chat echo (SPITFIRE_CHAT).

  23. 1. Play nice. (This covers a lot of ground, but you know what it means). If 
  24.    you don't play nice, we'll have to separate you.
  25.  
  26. 2. This Echo is available to all persons interested in Spitfire BBS 
  27.    Software. Please set your security level high enough so that the casual 
  28.    user does not fall into the echo by mistake. All FidoNet rules and 
  29.    regulations apply.

  31. 3. A word to drive-by posters, (O.K. two words) GO AWAY! If you want to 
  32.    discuss Spitfire versus any other BBS program in a positive way, have at 
  33.    it. If your just here to make noise we would rather not hear it.
  34.  
  35. 4. Stay on topic. Keep at least one foot on the subject of SPITFIRE BBS
  36.    software. If a topic is declared off-topic by the moderators, for 
  37.    heaven's sake, STUFF A SOCK IN IT!
  38.  
  39. 5. Keep foul language to yourself and don't quote somebody elses foul 
  40.    language either.
  41.  
  42. 6. All messages and subsequent replies shall be of a positive nature. We all
  43.    slip up from time to time, but as general practice let's try to keep 
  44.    things as friendly as possible.    
  45.  
  46. 7. Don't be easily annoyed. Be helpful and Considerate. We were all new at
  47.    this at one time and had to follow the learning curve.
  48.  
  49. 8. No ANSI Graphics are permitted in any message. Keep signatures down to 
  50.    three lines or less. 
  51.  
  52. 9. Keep your quoting to the minimum necessary to establish the context of 
  53.    your reply. Certainly, don't quote more than you originate.
  54.  
  55. 10.TRY NOT TO TYPE WITH THE CAPS KEY DOWN. This is known as
  56.    shouting, and is bad typing practice. It is also hard to read.
  57.  
  58. 11.No Encrypted mail flow is allowed.
  59.  
  60. 12.No programs are to be transmitted as a message. Small portions of source
  61.    code for clarification purposes will be allowed.
  62.  
  63. 13.Discussions that relate to Hacking of ANY Spitfire BBS Program, 
  64.    INCLUDING Spitfire Utility Programs will result in IMMEDIATE feed cuts! 
  65.    (No Fooling)

  67. 14.Please leave ALL moderating to the Moderators. If you have a complaint,
  68.    send me a netmail message anytime or phone me at (205) 232-5082 between 
  69.    6pm and 9pm Central Standard Time, Seven days a week.

  71. 15.Gating the FidoNet Spitfire Echo shall be directed by the Moderator with 
  72.    the assistance of Co-Moderator(s).  All Networks Gating into this echo 
  73.    must abide by this Echo's Rules and Current FidoNet Policy.

  75. 16.The position of a Co-Moderator will be handled by appointment by the
  76.    Moderator. The current Co-Moderator is Ken Pearce. All policy decisions 
  77.    will be made by the Moderator of this Echo, Mike Weaver at 
  78.    1:3670/3@fidonet.org.

  80. 17.DO NOT respond to any Moderation messages in the echo. If you do not 
  81.    agree with this policy then DO NOT use the echo! NetMail the Moderator 
  82.    if you wish to respond to a Moderation Message. Moderation Messages will 
  83.    be clearly defined as those in which the Moderator use their title 
  84.    directly beneath their name at the end of a message.

  86. 18.Messages determined to be excessively annoying by the Moderator will not 
  87.    be tolerated and will result in a SINGLE (1) NetMail Message warning 
  88.    from the Moderator prior to official action being taken as outlined in 
  89.    the current FidoNet policies.  
  90.  
  91. 19.References to gerbils, guinea pigs, hamsters and other similar rodents 
  92.    are prohibited.

  94. 20.That's it, except that if someone comes up with a new and improved way to 
  95.    aggravate all and sundry we reserve the right to make a rule to fit the 
  96.    occasion.
